Soprano Jordan Bowman, known for her opulent vocal color, robust chest voice, and heart-wrenching dramaticism, is a three-time district winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, a first prize winner of the NYC SongSlam, and placed third in the American Prize with composer Nathan Scalise for her performance of the Idaho Songs. Last year, she debuted the role of Pamina in Opera Mississippi’s production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, performed the role of Belinda in the concert version of Jake Landau’s new work & Aeterna with Off-Brand Opera in New York City, and was a semi-finalist in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition as well as the Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition. This year she is excitedly looking forward to her debuts with Light Opera of New Jersey as Gilda in Rigoletto, Idaho Falls Symphony, Opera Idaho as the role of Myrtale in Thaïs, and Bel Cantanti Opera as the title role in Anna Bolena.

In 2024, she enjoyed her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist for Durante's Magnificat a 4 in Bb Major with MidAmerica Productions and the New England Symphonic Ensemble. She became a finalist in the American Prize for her chamber performance of the new work, Sense of Self, by Lisa Neher and Kendra Preston Leonard. In the fall, she covered both the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Idaho. For the Christmas season she performed as the soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Gemma Arts and the Canyon County Symphony.

Jordan made three role debuts in the spring of 2023, two of which were premieres. In concert, she performed the role of Dadga, the evil wind goddess, in Brian Hosefros' new operetta, Peter Prickles as well as Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte with Randsman Artists Management and the DelGiudice Studio in New York City. After, she had the pleasure of revisiting and live premiering the role of Maya in the previously mentioned new opera, Sense of Self, at the New Music Gathering in Portland. This opera was presented first as a film during the pandemic with Opera Elect, which she produced.

In 2022, Jordan made four role debuts. First, as the cunning Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze dì Figaro in concert with Gemma Arts in their exciting inaugural production. She then traveled to the Teatro Communale di Giuseppe Manini di Narni in Italy to perform Dido in Andrea DelGiudice's spectacularly reimagined Dido & Aeneas, which was concurrently produced with critically-acclaimed composer Jake Landau's new epilogue opera, & Aeterna, where Jordan portrayed a continuation of the deceased Queen of Carthage. In the fall, she originated the vocally-demanding role of the Angel of Death in Nathan Scalise's biting new dark comedy opera, A Great Resignation, at the Hartford Fringe Festival.

In 2021, Jordan began the pursuit of lyric repertoire as soon as she was cast for the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica which was performed at the Narnia Festival in Italy. Previously, Jordan has performed and collaborated with Tri-Cities Opera, Binghamton Baroque Orchestra, the Binghamton University Wind Symphony, the Treasure Valley Interfaith Chorus and Orchestra, the College of Idaho Sinfonia, and the Boise Contemporary Theater.
